I bought this bike new in 1980 for abot 3K when I was 19 traded it for the seca 750 a few years later. The seca was a lil´ faster but the xj650 is an all around great bike. Sure wish I would have kept it I now own a 2002 nighthawk 750 which is about as close as I could find to a standard bike not a big fan of the V-twin and most straight fours today you gotta bend so far over to ride em after about an hour yer back starts hurtin. I like the nighthawk but it would be even nicer with a shaft drive like the maxim.
