I have the same bike, same year. Bought it off the guy next door. It had been sitting in the snow all winter and the weeds had grown taller than the bike the following summer (07). My motorcycle mechanic buddy got it started right away. First, Make sure the battery is FULLY charged. If your starter isn´t working right, you can connect the electricity through the bolts of the starter with a screwdriver or wrench to transfer the electricity. Take the side plate off to do this. Then Spray Carb and Choke cleaner into the air intake while trying to start it. This is a 2 person job. If you jump it, don´t turn on the vehile with the good battery. It´ll just fry the electrical system on your bike. Good luck!
