My 1981 550 Maxim is running at around 6k RPM for 50-55 mph. Is this normal? I had the gear sprocket checked to see if it was a modified one but it is stock. For a bike that red lines at 9.5k, this seems to be running high and I want to make sure that I am not hurting the engine when I drive it.
