I have driven 2 stroke ktm for the last 10 years and switched to the wr 250 f a month ago, it´s the best enduro i have ever had, you can concentrate in driving it without having any problem caused by excesive power from the engine and actually drive faster than 2 stroke bykes on slipery conditions, actually i am faster now than ever before. I have tested other biger 4 stroke bikes like the husaberg 400 and 501 or the ktm 400 amd 520 and the exesive power has make me run actually slower than with the wr 250 f as the final power in the 400 is equivalent to a 250 2 stroke and the 500´s higer than a 250 2 stroke. The wr 250 f, i changeded the exaust to a Higashi system for a faster engine rensponse changing the carburator needle to the yz model and the main jet to a 175, the bottom screw opened 2 turns instaed of one, under this conditions the bike starts at first even after stalling the bike on hot days on technical pasages, as long as you follow the starting instructions on the Yamaha manual, the bike wheight is as low as a 2 stroke bike as the engine and frame disign is extreemly compact and does not have battery or e-start devices, a fantastic racing bike! I am in love with it! |
