Fifth gear whines

I bought my 2000 650 v-star classic from a friend that kept it in top condition, the bike runs great and I´m having the time of my life with it. there is a problem with it though, or is there?
The bike seems to have a whine when it is in fifth gear at 55mph to about 70mph. Am I being perinoid ?
