I have a friend with a 1999 Yamaha VStar 650 Classic. He is customizing the bike, and would like to use the Arlen Ness Teardrop Mirrors from Motorcycle Superstore. Their data only show that this mirror will work with this bike from 2000 onward, but the parts person indicated that this might be in error, and that if there were no known change in mirrors between these two years, then these mirrors would work.

Does anyone know whether or not there was a change in the mirror threads, either size or direction, between 1999 and 2000?
