Vstar 2009 manufacture defect

While i´m riding my Yamaha v-star on around 60 miles/H the rear wheel locked to the ground all of the sudden and i almost lost my life as i was riding on route 95. The dealer advised that it´s a manufacture defect, something with the bearing caused this problem. Yamaha won´t admit it, i think it´s too risky to ride such a machine and they should do a recall, how can i get them to do this?
