Can it go the distance?

I have a 2009 Vstar 1100 Classic. I have been thinking about buying a bigger bike. My wife doesn´t want me to. My question is will the 2009 Vstar 1100 Classic hold up to long trips? Can that little engine withstand seventy miles an hour for hours at a time?
Please some one please let me know. Thank You Michael Avant
