Hal, Sounds like you´d be an interesting fellow to hang out with. I´ve always wanted to do some high desert riding and may yet in eastern Oregon, which is also high desert area. Shooting a rattler or two with my favorite sidearm would make a good day better, IMO. I looked at the Kawasaki 650 prior to my TW purchase. I liked the idea of the bigger bore, the liquid cooled engine and the gobs of low-end torque they make. At MSRP of $4999., I felt the price was -very- reasonable for all that the 650 gives you; until I sat on one. The seat was OK, ergonomics were excellent but could barely swing a leg up over the thing, much less touch the ground with both feet flat. It just didn´t feel right for some reason. More power (literally) to you folks that don´t have a problem with that. Regards Hal and happy riding in the desert. |
