Just bought a 2001 Road King Classic, the bottom of the crankcase is broke, and the only place I see to check the oil level, is a dipstick that is on the tranny. Once the crankcase is replaced, can I fill it up with new engine oil through the dipstick hole, then, the sump in the crankcase area of the engine, does the excess oil from the motor running get pumped back to the reservoir in the tranny? The last harley I had, (1997 Heritage Softtail, had an oil tank), and I am just trying to get a handle on how this works.
