My brakes have been making the holwing noise since my first trip home from the shop. The brakes also make the scraping sound when just runing along with out the brakes "engaged". I found that if I pull the brake handle just a little, it goes away. I wrote a letter to Harley and they said "sorry". I have seen several other web sites that indicate that it is a caliper sticking problem. Went to the dealer and they said that I should get up to highway speed and squeeze the front brake until it is just short of locking up. YEA RIGHT! I gues they figured they already got my money, so they don´t need me around any more. Since they don´t want to help me, I am just using the noise as a means of letting other potential harley customers know about the quality of service that harley provides for their customers. So far, I know of three people that bought other brands of bikes after hearing my brakes. |
