Got my 04 RK Custom in January, my first Harley; however, I´ve had serveral bikes Hondas, Triumph. For my 1,000 mile maintenance I was ask if i wanted to use the HD Syn3 in lieu of HD 20W-50 and agreed to when told it was a good oil. Surprised that the first 30 or so miles, engine was substantially more noisy. It did quiten down but appears to still be noisier than the original oil. I´ve been told the Syn3 will run cooler. Have put on about 250 miles since change. Should I stay with Syn3 or go back to 20W-50? Any comments:
