2002 Model? |
Mick Cayton (England) said 2002-12-02 14:21 |
I bought my first T-Max in September 2001 after several years of sportbikes because I wanted something to get me the to 50 miles to work without spending up to an hour a day, stationary in a car, in motorway traffic queues. I had the bike for 6 months until it was stolen from my garage; the insurance company then replaced it with the 2002 model. I can find no difference between the two, so why a "2002" Model, Yamaha? The bike, which I bought as a commuter machine, turns out to be much more than that: It has excellent handling and okay (it´s never enough) performance. I would even go so far as to say it´s fun to ride. When you nail it at traffic lights it can surprise bigger bike riders while they are changing gear: it´s the constant smooth acceleration that takes them by surprise. Bendy country lanes are the best, where you can use the handling and automatic transmission to really get a move on. It would also be an exccellent touring bike if Yamaha had thought to use some of that space under the seat for a petrol tank... |
