I have the same problem and if any one gives you any ideas I woud appriciate if you were to inform me. When i spoke to my electrition he told me that I would drain my battery as the alternator does not give out enough. Also if you change the Bright for two lights then you will be blinding the driver on the opposite ditection all the time. what i have done is added extra lights (Same as of the BMW) but with a relay and this has Helped me alot.
