Apparently, oil consumption is a common thing with all twin engines. I am experiencing the same thing, so checking oil levels regularly is absolutely vital. Some even recommend changing oil every 3000km, just to be sure. Actually, oil consumption is common for all twin engines, not just for the TDM 850, although this problem has been resolved on the TDM 900.
