Rick, Thanks for infomation, I took my in for 600 mile service. Everyone could hear whining noise, said nothing could be done to correct this whining/whistling. I told them about the Cutch Basket
replacement on your bike. They looked at each other and said this would not help. My noise is a lot louder. I will be calling the 800-962-7926 for Yamaha of America. I suggest anyone thinking about purchasing this bike do the same . Ask about this problem.
They should know this is a concern from most new owner´s of the Royal Star Tour Deluxe. I am very pleased we the bike other than this noise. They will heard from me.
