2009 Vstar 1100.. Picked up last Dec.. test drive was fine…Bike was ridden home… put in garage… hooked up to trickle charger…. Checked/ started it once in late Dec or early Jan and bike started up…hooked back up to trickle charger came back to start it up late March/ early April and battery was dead… wouldn’t turn over… battery did not test full…purchased a portable jump starter … that’ didn’t work… eventually got a new battery and have ridden bike all summer. The only thing I found was in the Climber Motorcycle handbook reads you can not charger bike with more than ‘4 Amp’ charger…the charger I have is brand new and is 4.5 Amp. I called the battery co and local bike dealer and they neither one had any idea if that’ could be the cause. I want to make sure I don’t kill the battery again this winter after I put bike away for winter. What do you think? Your thoughts/ suggestions are appreciated.. thanks
