Just bought a 1974 Yamaha RD250 with 2k miles on it. This is my first bike. I had the carbs rebuild and the bike runs great except for one problem. If I turn the lights on or the blinkers, the engice looses HP and sometimes stalls out. I understand this is something called "total Loss"
Wondering if anyone can tell me why it does this. I read somewhere that some people remove the outer charge coil to reduce resistance in the rotor for better pick up speed in races. Does this sound right to anyone?
