Jarry, I own a 2009 Executive and am your same size (also retired). The ´13 model should be pretty much the same machine with a little tweak on styling and clutch drag for better mileage (50mpg). I like the performance at every speed, twist and move fast!! 0-60 is mid 5 second. Hiway cruising is decent for all day long but I would not consider this for long distance without an Airhawk seat overlay as with most bikes the stock seat is not the greatest after an hour or so. The suspension would be marginal for 2 up riding. The front travel is 4.5 inches and is inadequate for any kind of rough road but that is about the only shortcoming of this bike. There are suspension updates out there for this known problem. The windshield is great for a 6-1 rider - just over top of helmet in the up position and bottom of helmet for in town down position on a hot day. I think you would love this machine with the proper suspension upgrades. I just use mine as a grocery getter so I put up with the low grade suspension due to high cost of upgrades. The valves should be checked at 14000 miles. Most will tell you that if it is running fine and not down on power to forget it and let go to 30000 miles, they will close up not loosen and clatter so you really don´t know unless power goes down. I would probably opt for the BMW for long distances if you have a dealer close to you. I have 6K miles on mine and am trying to sell it for a real motorcycle that I can put my legs against a tank to balance and control better. On a scooter you really are using a lot of body English to control the machine. It takes a lot of getting used to. The automatic is now available on Honda bikes. Hope you enjoy your choice and this helps somewhat.

Mark.
