13 softail slim oil cap.

I just serviced my bike myself and everything went as planned but now im ready for start up and my oil reservoir is totally full w/3.5 qts of oil . I understand that it takes 4 qts to fill to the proper level but it does not seem tjat the oil has moved into the crankcase . What to do ?
