The fzr is the sports version of yamaha, the yzf is like a sports version with power windows, the yzf usually weighs a little more, a few more plastics to cover nasty wiring, and slightly modified engine. not sure of the years but i know at least up to 95 if the was an fzr it was bad ass. then it changed to r-1 being 1000 , and r-6 being a 600, and currently yzf r-1 is the sports model. now if you´re good and confused go to yamaha dealer home page and see how the bikes are labeled, and compare there hp and weight.
