I have an 92 FZR 1000, that I though something had snapped in the transmission(found out later that the nut came off the sprocket, and the gear slid off the splines).So I took it to a bike shop to get it checked out. The mechanic pulled the clutch and broke 2 of the friction disks. He then put every thing in a box and said hereĀ“s your problem. I found out later what really had gone wrong and fixed it, and bought 2 more friction disks to fix the clutch. I know that the inner most friction disk is smaller in thickness then the others,and all the rest are the same except the furthest one out. Is that right? Is the friction disk that is closest to the out side the same or different as the rest? My new problem is that since I fixed the clutch, the clutch is engaged all the time. Did I put in the wrong thickness friction disks or do I need to adjust the clutch? The clutch lever is very tight now.
