HI THIS IS JUST THE SORT OF FORUM IM AFTER; IM AN FZ NUT FROM WAY BACK AND IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING UP A MOTOR THAT I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED. I UNFORTUNATELY HAVE A PROBLEM THAT I HAVE DISCOVERED WHILST MEASURING UP THE ENGINE PARTS; ALTHOUGH MY PISTONS AND BORES ARE QUITE SERVICEABLE; THE PISTON RING END GAPS ARE SOME WAY OUT OF SPEC; INDICATING WORN RINGS. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE ANY SERVICEABLE STANDARD SIZE RINGS FOR 1AE OR 1AAE PISTONS FOR SALE? NEW RINGS FROM YAMAHA HERE IN NEWZEALAND ARE NEARLY $200 NEWZEALAND DOLLARS. FOR ONE PISTON!!! PISTONS ARE OVER $200 EACH!! I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW YAMAHAS REASONING BEHIND THIS; THEY IN MY OPINION ARE OBVIOUSLY TRYING TO DISCORAGE PEOPLE LIKE US FROM REBUILING OUR MOTORCYCLES.......VERY UNFAIR IN MY OPINION. AS SUCH IF IM EVER IN A POSITION TO BUY A NEW YAMAHA.....I WON;T!!!!! I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FEEDBACK FROM OTHER FZ750 FANS OUT THERE. THE OTHER ALTERNATIVE IS TO USE ANOTHER MANUFACTURES RINGS AND HAVE MY PISTONS MODIFIED TO SUIT....ANY IDEAS OUT THERE. ANY ITS GOOD TO BE HERE AN I LOOK FORWARD TO CHECKING OUT THIS SITE IN DETAIL.
