Yes, I think the FZ6 is a much better bike than the Hornet 600, and I´ve driven both. It is correct that the FZ6 has some lag around 55-6500rpm., but this can be remedied electronically. Has to do with engine programming. I´m told that Yamaha is fixing this on their 2005 model. That one is also better regarding (front) brakes, as they will use the 4-caliper Nissins used on the YZF 600 and 1000 and the hotshot YZF R6. Only complaint about the FZ6 - to my opinion - is the hard-to-read central instrument.
As for myself, I´m buying the FZ6 Fazer now. I think it´s the best MC I´ve ever laid my hands on. And my first bike was a Honda Benly 125cc. back in 1963(!). I´m opting for the full touring accessories, orig. luggage cases, higher windscreen, a higher windscreen and a Bagster (tank on the FZ6 is made from aluminium). Let me hear of your experiences if you buy a Fazer. Greetings from Norway. Öivind.
