You can get a higher (OEM) windscreen of 10 cm extra (4"), and there are more than one additional producer of similar FJR screens. CE Bailey is one vendor. How does it handle? Well, my "chicken strips" are gone from my tires one weekend after new tires are fitted :) Choice of tires are crucial, and my best results so far is Metzeler Z6 for the dry season and Z4 for the wet season. Another tip is to increase the height of the rear slightly (under the shock there is a small wheel) to ´tilt´ the bike slightly forward for quicker ´turn in´. One of my buddies has a Suzuki GSX-R600 and I don´t have much trouble to follow him through the bends, just be aware that the FJR WILL hit the ground a bit earler than a pure sports bike, but so far I only scraped my boots. :) Summary: Perfect for me, better riding position than a sportsbike but slightly less ground clearance, but enough for me (so far)...
