Well I´ve have read various claims as to what sort of economy it might or might not get. Frankly I´m very happy with the economy in all situations. My best, and I dont care whether anyone beleives me or not is 4.44lts per 100klms when the bike had 11,100klms on the speedo from new, this is 63.6 mpg (UK Imperial galls) we have vast open roads here in Australia so it is easy to do this. But you have to ride the throttle carefully. The speed was between 100 and 110kph over a distance of 150klms on a still day, and the air temp. was 27C. with rider only and not carrying any gear.
Riding in most temperatures and giving it the odd squirt mainly not exceeding 110kph (country riding) I usually always average 5.3lts per 100klm or 53.29 mpg (UK Imperial) rider only no gear.
The worst Ive had, into a strong head wind and through twisting hilly roads was 6.7lts per 100klms or 42.16 mpg (UK Imperial)rider only, with top box and panniers full.
I´ve kept an eye out over time more out of curiosity, these days I just fill er up as I know the econmoy will be related to how much throttle gets screwed on. Either way Im not complaining.
