You can replace the original petcock with the old type by buying an after market kit which uses an adapter or you can make the adapter using a piec of 3/8 or 1/4 inch plate. Drill the original tank mount holes using your old petcock for a template, then drill the center hole for the new screw-in type and tap for the new thread. Use a gas-proof gasket. You may have to file out the tank slot a little to get the new petcock to thread in. Do NOT force it in and make sure that the control tab faces out and the gas line fitting faces forward. It´s a close fit but it works. Good luck. Oldwing. |
