Yes, and it runs great. You need five parts from a DT 250. I know the lighting/charge coil is different from the 1975 DT250B/400B to 1976 DT 250C/400C . So if you have A 1975 Yamaha DT 400B You can use the ignition parts from a 1974-75 Yamaha DT 250. If you have a 1976 Yamaha DT 400C You should use a 1976 Yamaha DT 250C Ignition system. The headlamps are different wattage between 1975 (35W) and 1976 (30W) so I would use what i am telling you so there are no problems with the lighting/charge coil If you own a 1975 DT 400B get the parts from a 1974-1975 DT250 If you own a 1976 DT 400C get the parts from a 1976 DT 250C HERE ARE THE FIVE PARTS YOU WILL NEED FROM A DT 250 TO CONVERT THE 1975-76 DT 400B/C TO CONTACT BREAKER POINTS IGNITION SYSTEM, 1.Ignition coil 2.Stator assembly 3.Magneto 4.Wiring harness (or you can modify the black coil wire from the 400 harness) 5.NGK B8ES Spark plug Keep checking ebay and the parts will pop up, that´s where I got mine. Everything fits right up so it´s easy.At least if you change it over to the DT 250 points and condenser you can always get points and condenser for it. I got new points and condenser from Yamaha although it cost me a lot ($70.00) But at least I can ride the motorcycle now. |
