I am looking at buying a ´81 dt 175 at a dealership near my college. I use to have an old RD and loved it so I thought a DT would be fun too. I have a bunch of area to ride during the summer back home and just want something that can run and is fun to mess around on for a afternoon after work. The one I am looking at is a cconcietment with the dealer so the price is thankfully angatioatable. The bike is in great condition, it has a FMF pipe on it and the tank is amazingly well kept. No visible signs of wear and tear. It also appears to have a newer set of forks on it. They are asking 950 or best offer. I am just wondering if that is even worth it? Every bike I´ve looked at around that year for the past few years are generally worth at most 400 bucks. I understand that there is a lot of aftermarket parts and such but I have no idea how many miles are on the engine. There are no more headlights, taillights or blinkers. It is obvious where they are suppose to be. There are no gauges or anything like that on it either. So any input anyone has on how much this bike is worth or what is a reasonable ammount to ask for I would greatly appreciate any input. Thanks.
