Bad CDI box?

I have a 1978 DT175E. I bought it brand new in 1978. It´s been running great until recently. Now I can run it full out for 10 or 15 minutes and then it shuts down like it ran out of gas. I´ve been told it was the coil so I replaced it. Same problem. Now I´m told it´s the CDI box.

Question: does anyone know that this is symptom is the result of a bad CDI box or could it be something else?

Does anyone know if this is correct or is it indicative of something else?
