Carburator connections

I bought the bike 2nd hand and found that there are 3 places on the carb that small pipes/tubes should fit over. Where are these pipes suppose to connect or lead to? Mine has none and the bike starts and runs OK. Just doesnt make any sense. an someone please answer. Thanks
