oil hose???

Hello all,
I am new to bikes all together. I bought a ds7 about a month ago in fairly good shape. I can figure out most everything about the bikes workings, except where the oil hose from the oil tank is supposed to connect. It comes from the oil tank on the side of the bike, and dangles in mid air between the carburetors. I don´t think it´s supposed to just hang in mid air. Please help! I bought a service manual, but I guess it expects you to know that much about it, because it dowsn´t tell me either.
