Won´t start after riding for awhile

Won´t start after riding for awhile

Went out for a ride yesterday, stopped and shut off scooter and talked to some friends for 20 mins. Went to leave scooter would not start, just cranked and cranked. Came home this evening went to the garage and started right up. What´s the problem?
