It was my 1st motorcycle. I bought it 1972, when I was 20 years old. The price was about DM 2.300.-. It run very well and had a loud racing-like sound, which would be unbearable nowadays.
The only problem were the oiled spark plugs that stopped the engine in city traffic or when you drove at too little rpm`s. But by the
time I knew, what was to do: to screw the spark plugs out and wash them with petrol from the tank. I drove the AS-3 until 1977 and sold it with 23.000 km`s. The next one was a Yamaha XS 360.
Now I drive my third BMW. It` s a R1000 GS P/D Classic (last edition) and I´m very happy with it.
