I´m having the same issue with mine! i just recently acquired the bike and i thought i just hadn´t gotten the hang of a cold start. now i´m thinking this might be a more common issue. if i give it just a touch of gas it runs just fine, but like you said, only with the choke on. could the idle be adjusted up a bit?
