I just my a 1998 suzuki marauder with a blown engine as my first bike. I thought I would be able to easily find a replacement engine for this but was told by dealership that it would only take a 98 marauder engine. Is this entirely true? Can the 98 take other marauder years? What about other suzuki roadbike engines? Can I even venture into a honda or harley engine? If there is someone out there who has any info(or a crashed marauder) to help me get on the road I would appreciate it.
