Hello, I have a friend who is having problems with his 2001 Suzuki 800 cc Marauder. Seems that about 3 weeks ago it was running just fine when he used it. We have had several weeks of bad weather which caused the bike to just sit in the garage. Last week when he took the bike out, it seems to have developed power problems. That is to say weak running engine, amost like it has a governor on the trottle. I pulled both spark plugs and they look ok, with the rear cylinder plug showing signs of a little hotter burn than the front plug, but otherwise no indication of a plug problem. I drained the fuel tank completely both reserve and primary sides, and refilled with fresh 93 octane fuel, this made no difference in the way it was performing. Electrical power on the bike seems fine. No signs or indication of over heating and the problem does not seem to be effected with a cold or warm engine. We do not have service manual for this bike, so I donĀ“t know exactly where things are on it or if it has a fuel filter that could be clogged,(fuel ran out of the shut-off valve freely when we drained the tank). Any ideas out there??? I would just like to make sure we check everything simple before bringing it in for dealer service. Thanks to all who read this! Consultpsc |
