I own a 93 vs1400 GLPP. It is a 4 speed, later models are equipped with a 5 speed gear box. My 1400 has front and read disk brakes. As far as i know only the vs800 has a rear drum brake. The bikes look almost identical so be careful, look at the VIN sticker on the front down tube anr verify you are actually looking at a vs1400 and not an 800.
