We are kicked by the same mule. I have both 2003 vs1400glp and 2000 ej650 (W) and both backfire on deceleration, but the 1400 has an exhaust leak in rear cylinder that may be at fault. It had drag pipes when I got it and fitted stock pipes and mufflers but the rear pipe angle is off a bit. I got 10 ft. of 1/8
