Question: I need to charge my battery the 2001 Suzuki Intruder has a weird battery placement, very difficult to get to, it is mounted in a box between the two exhaust pipes. I can see the positive ground, but not the negative ground? Question can I trickle charge without the neg ground cable on the battery, eg on the frame instead? Or will I need to drop the battery out of the cycle to charge it? Answer: If you refer to the owner´s manual and the repair manual you will see that the battery negative ground is a long cable which extends out when you remove the battery. Yes, it´s weird, but it´s the only solution for where they placed the battery. yes, you can trickle-charge that way, but you must make sure that the negative connection is solid to the battery and not a tenuous connection to ground.
