I just bought a Volusia. Big decision for me. Previously had a sport bikes (TL1000, Kawa ZX900) Retired racer always liked zipping around, but getting a little old to deal with the 100mph+ tickets and Jail. Decided to try a cruiser. Wow, this thing is actually fun. There are all sorts of neat stuff to look at if you´re not going 100 mph and scanning for dweebs ready to pull out in front of you. Very comfortable and handles great. Nice sound and gets good mileage (at least compared to the TL). This is a very good looking bike. Nice styling and plenty of power for "responsible" cruising. I have never understood the alure of Harley type big twin noisy, obnoxious, painful sound, it´s all noise and very little go anyway. Volusia is nice and quiet, you can actual hear the waitress after a nice ride in the mountains. not sure about all the tassels and little bags and "floorboards" and stuff cruisers seem to like but this is a great bike and I´ll be cruising for a long time on it. |
