Yeap, that´s the LC1500 OK. The LC 1500 and the new Blvd model are identical in the tranny. They´re long gears. meaning, when you downshift, go down 2 gears instead of one. Here´s what I did. What ever your speedo says, you should be in the next higher gear. 30 mph= 4th gear, 40 mph = 5th gear. coming down is 2 gears at a time because your slowing down. But, remember, 20 mph = 3rd gear, 10mph = 2nd gear. Use 1st gear only when your dragging your feet ready to stop. The manual states what speed´s to shift for a smoother engagement. Mine is clunky sounding too. But, I shift as the manual states and I can live with that I guess. I love my Intruder, clunky sounds and all. I wish I could put a Harley 6 speed trans in my LC1500. I´d be in heaven. The bike needs a 6th gear. Why Suzuki makes a cheap transmission is beyond me. I love my Intruder, but, can´t see buying another of the same. I want improvements. (Are you listening Suzuki). Enjoy the ride. The trans takes getting used to. I don´t even hear it anymore. Dado |
