bike only runs with choke on

with the choke on it will start right up. once warm it will idle with the choke pulled out. if you push the choke in it will die . it seems like it is only running on one cylinder, if you rev it up it pops like there is water in the gas. any idea what is wrong? i know its got to be something simple.
