Just had my ´02 1500LC carbs tunes and jetted for V&H long shots along with new white walls installed. Got the bike back and a day later I turn the key and nothing happens...no lights, fuel pump noise, readout...nothing. I cleaned battery terms and checked voltage (12.7) then checked the main fuse and noticed that when I moved the connector plug...lights would flicker. I opened plug and noticed one of the connectors appeared to have melted plastic around it. I removed, reinserted, had all indications, even after moving plug around. Started bike fine...let idle for a few minutes then reved her up and she backfired and the readout went nuts and lights flickered. I shut bike off...waited a few then tried to start...no joy...back to nothing at all happening.
I get the impression there is a poor connection to the battery.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Have an honor flight escort this weekend...need her running and reliable!
