I just bought a ´99 1500 LC also, and have the same popping from the Jardine exhaust system now on it. Someone told me that the backfiring is because the engine´s running too lean, and that the carb(s) need to be rejetted. I might do that, or go to stock pipes because the Jardine pipes are too loud for me.
