Good Evening My mate has a 1979 TS125 ERN with a genuine 5,000 miles on the clock. Whilst out for a ride last Sunday the bike petered out and subesquent investigations revealed that there is a small hole in the piston. The bike is treated with respect - mature owner etc. and has a quality oil going through it. Has anyone come across this problem before and has anyone any ideas what has caused it. we have checked the plug and it is burning the right colour and the mixture on the carb is correct. The only thing we have come up with is perhaps the effects of using unleaded fuel. The bike has covered 800 miles since being recommisioned for the road last year having been standing for about 10 years. Has anyone had any similar experiences or can offer any advice or a solution. Be grateful for your help. Thanks CBF |
