How to find the year of my bike?

I would like to know the year of my bike?The suzuki dealer can`t find it! The number on the frame is: rv 90 - 92103 and is complete. All i can see of the year is the number 8 and the rest is erased,i looked at specification on internet and it seemed to be 1978.Can anyone help me?Thank you!
