hey anyoneone out there i have an 05 rm25o and the top end was rebuilt because of pre ignition damage to the outer ring of the head, so a new cylinder sleeve, piston, and (PHATHEAD racing head) were installed to correct it, however this didnt work, the bike still does it. i tore the head off and in doing so i realized the bike had been low on radiator fluid because the inner gasket under the head was cut by some metal that came from the edge of the piston/top of the cylinder sleeve (hint not on the cylinder wall where the piston and ring move, but the flat part on top of the cylinder sleeve where it meets the head). i was wondering how to cure pre ignition so this doesnt happen again. i runb the bike 32:1 with synthetic premix, and royal purple synthetic gearbox oil also. spark plug is br8eg. if anyone has an idea on how to cure the pre ignition i would love to hear it thanks!!!! ps the dome in the head is not a high compression dome for specs on the phathead look on their website. |
