The RF600 Has this issue from new, it was noted on a couple of test rides in 1996. It will get worse if the rider isn´t playing nice, I find the best way to change from 1st to secound is to just put a little pressure under the shifter and then pull the cluch a little and dip the revs, it goes in no fuss most times!
