Ok here we go. long story short. I took my moto apart to fix compression issue. Got it all back together. Now i cannot figure out the timing. I followed the service manual to a T. I lined up the rotor mark and then i put in the exhaust cam. #1 pointing at crank half, #2 pointing up, and #3 13 pins from #2. I keep getting blow by out my carb and it back fires and will hardly run. I mean like start for 2 sec then backfire through exhaust and intake and then die. got to examining everything, and put the intak cam 12 links away from the mark and that took care of the intake issue. SHE RUNS now but not very good. Still getting Exhaust backfire and its not running right. I dont know what to do. Mechanics (suzuki Dealer) said they have no clue and dont know where to get the service manual from. It was there 3 different times. I am by no means illiterate when it comes to motors as i am a Yamaha Certified Technician. I just cannot figure out my 900R.

1995 RF900R 30K miles.
valve clearence good but cannot set timing please help.
